JETBOIL: A BRAND BUILT ON THE PASSION FOR INNOVATION
When Jetboil officially joined the Johnson Outdoors family of brands in 2012 there was excitement and anticipation of what the future had in store. Since then, the team of engineers at Jetboil have continued to improve upon the original design that was invented twenty years ago, a design that set off a paradigm shift in the camping industry, and they continue to expand on their groundbreaking technology with a host of different solutions.
The FluxRing is at the Heart of the Rapid (Jet) Boil
If you turn over every Jetboil pot, you’ll find a ring of corrugated aluminum wrapped around the bottom surface, surrounding the spot where the flame will be. That’s the FluxRing—the heart of Jetboil’s iconic speed and fuel efficiency.
The FluxRing serves three key functions as a key component of every Jetboil stove system:
- Heat transfer: The more surface area there is to heat up, the more quickly and efficiently the pot will heat. The folds that make up the FluxRing provide far more surface area for heat transfer, resulting in faster boiling or cooking times and greater fuel efficiency.
- Compact size: For the reasons described above, the FluxRing offers campers and backpackers the speed and efficiency of a larger cooking system in a small, lightweight, compact package perfect for carrying on the trail. (Sizes and weights vary by model.)
- Wind blockage: One consistently troublesome problem for backcountry cooks is the gust of wind that blows out your flame before the cooking is done. While leaving plenty of room for the necessary oxygen, the FluxRing’s placement surrounding the flame serves as a valuable windblock to make that camp dinner or morning coffee a little less frustrating.

Versatility and Efficient Performance from the Jetboil Regulator
Another challenge backpackers often face is the on or off nature of most camping and backpacking stoves. While that might be sufficient for boiling water, it’s a recipe for disaster if you’re trying to do anything more subtle than that.
That’s why the Jetboil regulator is such an important innovation. With four different levels of heat intensity, any Jetboil can be used to simmer sauces, wilt greens, heat up leftovers, or (of course) boil, without burning or drying out your food. That also means you’re not wasting fuel on a high-intensity flame you don’t need.
Additionally, the Jetboil regulator is precision-engineered to provide consistent performance even as your JetFuel canister runs low. Your flame won’t start sputtering out before the canister is empty.

Packable AND Snackable!
A compact, portable footprint is absolutely vital to backpackers who need to carry everything they need on their person. That’s why Jetboil stove systems are designed to fit together in a single compact unit, both when in use and when packed away.
All Jetboil systems are modular, with the cooking pot or cup serving as the container where all other components can be stored. This saves precious pack space and ensures you’re not hunting around in the dark for a key piece of your stove.
When you’re using the system, the interlocking components provide a strong, stable foundation so there’s less room for tips and spills, which can ruin a highly-anticipated meal faster than anything else.
