BUILDING ON OUR LEGACY OF SUSTAINABILITY
Since our founding in 1970, Johnson Outdoors has encouraged a sense of awe for the great outdoors — and inspired preservation of our shared wild spaces. We consider it our responsibility to leave the world a better place and to accelerate our environmental efforts.

SUSTAINABILITY THROUGH INNOVATION
SUSTAINABILITY THROUGH INNOVATION
OUR IMPACT
We’re always looking for a better way to deliver the best outdoor experience. That includes sustainability initiatives large and small in our products and operations, including:
- SCUBAPRO was the first dive brand to introduce solvent-free glue and petroleum-free limestone X-Foam Neoprene in various wetsuits, and a mesh bag for the Black Seawing Nova Fin that can be reused for underwater dive cleanups.
- Jetboil’s Stash is their first stove system with 100% plastic-free, recycled packaging
- Eureka! partners with the Leave No Trace Center For Outdoor Ethics, focusing on education as the most effective solution to protecting the land.
- Old Town Canoe re-purposes excess heat generated in production processes to warm the building, reducing natural gas consumption and cutting heating costs by 90%.
- Humminbird’s best-selling fish finder, the HELIX, has transitioned its internal packaging from closed-cell foam to recycled cardboard pulp that can be recycled again.

BRANDS BOUND TO THE GREAT OUTDOORS
BRANDS BOUND TO THE GREAT OUTDOORS
OUR GOAL
Our brands are tied inextricably to land and water. By encouraging people to get outdoors, explore and connect to the natural world, we fuel their understanding and desire to protect it. By outfitting consumers with high quality, innovative outdoor recreation equipment, produced in a socially and environmentally responsible way, we help ensure our planet will be even healthier a century from today.
TAKING ACTION
IT'S WHO WE ARE
IT'S WHO WE ARE
TAKING ACTION
Our employees carry out this commitment, regularly participating in river and lake cleanups and land stewardship programs. Our brands also support environmental research and conservation organizations, such as MOTE Marine Laboratory & Aquarium, a marine research institute and aquarium; the Charles Darwin Foundation, conducting scientific research and promoting environmental education; and Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics, focused on far-reaching education for the public.
TAKING OUR EFFORTS TO THE NEXT LEVEL
We want to ensure that our planet’s land, freshwater and oceans are healthy enough to support those adventures for generations to come. True environmental progress requires each of us to
do our part — and deeper connection drives greater action. By increasing access to and immersion in the great outdoors, we help increase empathy and care for the environment. We continue to build partnerships with our customers, consumers and communities. Together, we can make things happen
