EUREKA!’S CAMP CAFÉ - IMPROVING THE CAMPSITE ONE CUP OF COFFEE AT A TIME

Here at Eureka!, a member of Johnson Outdoors’ family of brands, we have prided ourselves on designing and manufacturing innovative products that help people enjoy the outdoors, and did we mention we’ve been doing it since 1895? What started with wagon covers developed into camp tents, and now to a full campsite.

One of our newest and favorite products is the Camp Café, designed to nest together for easy transport and brew quality coffee for the entire campsite (12 cups). It’s easy to see why it’s become a quick fan favorite in the Eureka! line of products. We decided to interview head engineer, Mike Hebert, who drove this product’s creation.

Q: What were important features when designing the Camp Café?
"A system approach to making pour over coffee – in large quantities – using FluxRing technology to get hot water FAST."

Q: How important is a good cup of coffee to you?
"Extremely. It is the foundation of all my productivity – so I might as well enjoy it!"

Q: Who did you have in mind when designing this product?
"Groups of campers in search of a solution to make a big pot of tasty coffee with enough to go around."

Q: Where’s the best place you’ve had a cup of coffee?
"That’s such a tough call. One that really stands out, though, was a particular crisp, chilly fall day with perfect visibility during peak New England foliage on top of Mt. Garfield looking over the Pemigewasset Wilderness in New Hampshire's White Mountains."
