OLD TOWN PRO STAFF TAKES ACTION

At Johnson Outdoors, we're all about inspiring people to get outside to experience the awe of the great outdoors. That means investing in sustainability, conservation, and public access initiatives. There is plenty of work to be done, and we can't do it alone.

That is why we partner with communities, organizations, and individuals who are doing great work to ensure that future generations have the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors and time on the water.

We're proud to highlight members of the Old Town Pro Staff team who are active in their community, working to improve their local waters and fisheries.

  • In recent years, Rob Choi of Virginia wanted to give back. He voluntarily tagged fish for Virginia D.N.R. as a part of a "citizen science" fish tagging program.
  • Brian Volkernick of Maine served as the regional Conservation Director for B.A.S.S. at local events, ensuring the healthy handling and management of bass at tournaments and in tournament waters
  • Throughout the years of guiding and angling in New Hampshire, fishing guide, Tim Moore, partnered with the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department, Sierra Club, and the New Hampshire Wildlife Federation on various conservation and climate projects. He has even traveled to D.C. to lobby lawmakers regarding climate change issues affecting his local fisheries

  • British Columbia resident Brad Torrey volunteers at his local salmon hatcheries and is a committee member for his local Pacific Salmon Foundation group. Brad has also installed fishing line recycling bins at public boat ramps in his community to reduce fishing line litter in local waterways.

  • New Brunswick's Darren Moran has volunteered with trout restocking programs and restoration programs for trout habitat through the years.
  • Saltwater angler and Connecticut resident Matt Stone passionately advocates for proper fish handling, educating anglers on catch and release practices to ensure a healthy recreational fishery for everyone.

Are you passionate about the outdoors and conserving the environment for the next generation like we are at Johnson Outdoors? The harvest is plenty, and the workers are few. Consider getting involved in sustainability, conservation, or public access initiatives in your community. Together, we can make a difference.
